Liaison Worldwide FAQ's
Plan Overview Benefit Details Brochure FAQ's

Q1: Which doctor or hospital can I go to?

The PPO provider for Liaison Worldwide is Hygeia and First Health PPO Network.  These PPO Networks are independent organizations and is recognized by all major hospitals, doctors, and health facilities. Out-of-Network expenses are also covered but we recommend going to a doctor or hospital listed under this PPO network for negotiated prices.

You can search for doctor or hospital in this Provider Directory.

Q2: When will I receive my ID card?

As soon as you purchase the plan, by default, the on-line buying receipt/virtual ID card is available for printing. This can be your proof of insurance and can be used as an ID card. Additionally by default, you will be emailed the ID card that you can print and take to the doc/hospital. Also, when filling out the online application, you have the choice of getting supplemental information and ID card in the mail. If you would like to receive the ID card and plan details by mail then make sure to choose "yes" for mailed ID card. You should receive your insurance package at your mailing address within 5-10 business days of purchase.

Q3. Does this plan have onflight coverage?

Yes, Liaison Worldwide has onflight coverage from home country to the U.S. as well as back to home country. This coverage will only apply if the flight days fall during the plan effective dates. If applicable, make sure to select the start date when the insured leaves the home country (U.S. eastern time) and select the end date the day they arrive home country on the trip back (U.S. eastern time)

Q4: How do I use this insurance?

Please refer to the following article about the policy usage:
Policy Usage: How to use it?

Q5: How do I file a claim?

Please refer to the following article concerning the claim process:

Q6: What information do I need to purchase this insurance?

Name, date of birth, passport number and home country address of the visitor(s).

Q7: When I buy this plan, do I need to make the full payment at once or do I have the option of paying it on a monthly basis?

Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at once.
Since this plan is renewable you can renew it anytime you would like before the policy expires. There is a $5 renewable fee for every time you renew. If you would like to spread your cost and pay for premiums at a monthly basis, you can initially purchase the plan for a month and then keep renewing it month by month.

Q8: I want to purchase insurance for more then one visitor. Should I purchase two separate policies for them or have a combined policy?

Only immediate family members can be on a single policy. The benefits and cost does not differ if you buy individually or combined policies. If the visitors have different travel plans (might be coming together but leaving on different dates, etc.) it is recommended to buy separate policies.

Having separate policies gives you more flexibility in renewals and cancellations.

Q9. What's the difference between Liaison International and Liaison Worldwide?

As of 12/31/2008, Liaison International plans will have different coverage options and can be purchased maximum for 6 months. If you are looking for a plan that has similar features of the older version of Liaison International, then purchase a Liaison Worldwide.

You can compare the prices on the Compare Plans Page.

Q10: I am a United States citizen or permanent resident, but live in another country. Can I purchase this insurance during my visit to the US?

Yes you can. This is one of the very few plans that define "Home Country" as the country or residence rather then the citizenship. Meaning, your home country is the country where you live rather then the country you have a citizenship of so you can purchase this plan while visiting the US even though you are a US citizen or PR holder.

Q11: Where can I find answers to other questions I have?

Please refer to the FAQ’s section of this website.  You may also want to look at the knowledge section of this website for lots of informative articles.
