Hi, I came to the US two years ago for gradschool. Now I graduated and have an OPT card, and looking for a job. Since I am not a student anymore, I can't enroll to international student health insurance plans. I was wondering if I am eligible for your Patriot Platinum plan. If not, can you please send me the names of plans that I can enroll? Thanks.

The only travel medical insurance plans that are available for OPT visa holders for a short period of time as long as you have been in the U.S. for just 2 years of less are: Atlas AmericaVisit USASafe Travels USA Comprehensive, or Safe Travels USA - Cost Saver.

You can view, compare, and purchase any of the mentioned policies here: http://www.visitorscoverage.com/visitor-health-insurance/plans/

Usually as an OPT visa holder, since you are living in the U.S. permanently and have been living in the U.S. for some amount of time already, you should be eligible for domestic healthcare plans which are under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Domestic healthcare plans are offered by healthcare.gov and also by your local Social Security Administration office.

If you inquire about domestic healthcare plans and you are informed that you have a waiting period in which you will not be able to enroll yet in a domestic healthcare plan, you can consider a Short Term Medical insurance policy during that waiting period. You can view, compare, and purchase any of the Short Term Medical insurance policies here: http://www.visitorscoverage.com/short-term-health-insurance-plans/

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us by phone at: 866-384-9104 or by email at: support@visitorscoverage.com.
