CoverAmerica - Gold is a visitor insurance plan that provides medical insurance coverage and emergency services for non US citizens and non US residents traveling to the USA. It also covers incidental trips to Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Latin America and South America, while visiting the USA. After the deductible is satisfied, within the PPO network , the plan will pay 100% of eligible medical expenses up to the policy maximum. Outside the PPO network, the plan will pay 80% of the first $1,000 in eligible medical expenses than 100% thereafter . Outside the USA, after the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 100% up to the chosen policy maximum.

Q2. Why CoverAmerica is unique, and best among all other similar policies? A typical travel medical insurance policy will cover medical emergencies (as included), but the best policy would have comprehensive coverage for Covid-19. This means that the insurance firm won’t just help you if you get sick, but they’ll also be able to reimburse you for delays, enforced stays( Quarantines) , or a missed departure( Missed connection). CoverAmerica Gold has it all and more. A true international travel medical insurance policy. It is not just another "Covid medical included" type of policy. It is much more and a true Gold standard. | |
Q3. What Information do I need to buy the Plan? You would need the name of the traveler(s), dates of birth(s), travel dates and mailing address of the visitor(s). A valid credit card is also required to purchase the plan. | |
Q4. When will I receive my ID card? An email confirmation will be sent after purchase. The email will include links and instructions on how to access and print out your ID card. | |
Q5. Can I extend the plan, if I plan to stay longer? Yes, if you buy the plan initially for more than 5 days, you can extend the policy. It is recommended to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires. There is no Admin Fee for extension. The policy can be extended for up to a maximum of 365 days. | |
Q6. Can I cancel the plan, if I plan to go back earlier? Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the CoverAmerica - Gold Plan, if you need to go back earlier than plan. The following rules apply: | |
Q7. Are pre-existing conditions covered by the CoverAmerica - Gold Plan? Pre-existing conditions are not covered by any travel insurance plan. The CoverAmerica - Gold plan covers for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions for people up to 79 years of age. Coverage amounts vary by age as shown in the Summary of Benefits section of this brochure. An acute onset of a pre-existing condition shall mean a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of physician recommendations or symptoms and requires urgent care. The Acute onset of a Pre-Existing Condition(s) must occur after the Effective Date of the Certificate. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected recurrence. A Pre-existing Condition that is a congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time will not be considered an acute onset. A pre-existing condition will not be considered an Acute Onset if during the 30 days prior to the acute event you had a change in prescription or treatment for a diagnosis related to the acute event. This benefit does not include coverage for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs or treatments existent or necessary prior to arrival in the United States and prior to the Effective Date of Coverage. There is no coverage for people above 79 years of age. Please check the Description of Coverage for more information about what is considered as acute onset of pre-existing condition. | |
Q8. How does the Public Emergency Health Screening Work? The Public Emergency Health Screening benefit will allow an insured person who has 30 days or more of coverage the ability to get a one-time screening up to $150. A screening that results in a positive test during a travel warning of any kind in the destination country will not grant coverage for treatment and services. This benefit is ONLY for a public health emergency screening. Treatment and services are subject to the terms and conditions of the certificate. Q9. How does the Influzena (flu) Vaccination Work? The Influenza (flu) Vaccination benefit will allow an insured person who has 30 days or more of coverage the ability to get a one-time flu vaccination up to $50. Q14. When I buy this plan, do I need to make the full payment at once or do I have the option of paying it on a monthly basis? Payment in full is required in order for coverage to begin. There is no monthly payment options. You can choose to renew your coverage monthly. There is a $5 extension fee applied for each extension done. | |

Q16. Does CoverAmerica Gold cover coronavirus? If you purchased CoverAmerica Gold on or after September 1, 2020, CoverAmerica Gold will cover COVID-19 as any other eligible illness. The condition must not have been contracted before the policy effective date and a minimum of 30 days of coverage will need to be purchased.
