Patriot International Lite is an A- rated comprehensive Travel Medical insurance plan that provides medical coverage and other covered travel and emergency services for a traveler's temporary stay outside of their home country. Coverage begins once the policyholder has left their home country and is in transit to or has entered one of the eligible destination countries. The coverage duration is available from 5 days to 365 days. After the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 100% of eligible medical expenses up to the policy maximum.     The Adventure Sports Rider is available for those up to the age of 65. The following activities are covered to the lifetime maximum amounts listed below as long as they are engaged solely for leisure, recreation, or entertainment purposes:any Illness or Injury sustained while taking part in activities designated as Adventure Sports, which are limited to the following: abseiling; amusement/theme park activities; BMX; bobsledding; bungee jumping; canyoning; caving; hot air ballooning; jungle zip lining; parachuting; paragliding; parascending; rappelling; skydiving; spelunking; wakeboarding; water skiing; wildlife safaris; and windsurfing.

    Provides up to 100% reimbursement of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if you are prevented from taking your trip due to a covered, unforeseen reason or 125% reimbursement if your trip is interrupted for a covered, unforeseen reason. Also includes travel delay benefits up to $2,000 ($250/day after an initial delay of 12 hours).
    With this add-on you may recover non-refundable, unused payments and deposits when a trip is cancelled or interrupted due to a covered unforeseen reason. Benefits also include accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), which pays benefits to your beneficiary if you sustain an injury or loss of life caused by an accident during your flight. Note: this add-on benefit is only available for US residents.

    You can go to any doctor or hospital of your choice with Patriot International Lite and be covered 100% for eligible medical expenses, after the deductible is met.

    The Trip Cancellation, Interruption, & Travel Delay rider offered with Patriot International Lite is only available to U.S residents traveling internationally and provides the below benefits if chosen. With this add-on you may recover non-refundable, unused payments and deposits when a trip is cancelled or interrupted due to a covered unforeseen reason.     The cost of Patriot International Lite varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as traveler’s age, duration or length of trip, selected coverage benefit limits, and the addition of additional coverage options (riders). Typically, Patriot International Lite can cost about $3 a day for the duration of the trip for a person 50 years of age selecting International travel coverage area that does not include USA .
    Yes, you can extend Patriot International Lite. You would need to extend the plan before the policy expires. There would be an extra $5 extension charge.

    Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Patriot International Lite plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply:

    • Submit cancellation request through your account.
    • If you cancel the policy before the start date, you are eligible for a full refund.
    • If you cancel after the policy start date, you can get a refund only if no claims have been filed.
    • $50 cancellation fee applies.
    You cannot remove one person from Patriot International Lite if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.
    To purchase Patriot International Lite, you will need full name(s), coverage dates, date(s) of birth, home country address, and a valid credit card.

    After purchasing Patriot International Lite, you will receive a digital copy of the ID card via email. You may print out the ID card if you would like a physical copy. You can also retrieve your ID card using MyIMG: Get My ID Card

    Patriot International Lite will provide coverage in all eligible countries, except your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy. Coverage is valid only within the policy dates selected.
    Patriot International Lite can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence. The Patriot International Lite plan does not cover for the COVID-19 vaccine/booster. Patriot International Lite will only cover for COVID-19 testing if the policyholder is experiencing symptoms and the test is ordered by an attending physician for diagnostic purposes. COVID-19 tests to meet travel requirements will not be covered.

    Based on the coverage length you selected, full payment must be made upfront to purchase Patriot International Lite.

    This plan is extendable, allowing you to extend it any time before the policy expires. There is an extension fee of $5 for each extension made.

    The earliest Patriot International Lite can start is the day after purchase, with no waiting period. Coverage begins on the selected date once the policyholder leaves their home country and only covers new and eligible conditions occurring after this date.
    Only the primary destination will be listed on the policy documents, but all eligible countries will still be covered during the Patriot International Lite policy period.
    Patriot International Lite coverage begins on the selected coverage start date when the traveler leaves their home country. It applies anywhere outside the home country while the policy is active. Coverage ends immediately upon the traveler's re-entry into their home country.
    No, your Patriot International Lite plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You have to sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. Not all plans are extendable or renewable, so be sure to review your policy terms and conditions for eligibility.
    The Patriot International plan does not offer any coverage for quarantine.
    Yes, you may purchase Patriot International Lite even after the traveler has entered their destination country. Eligible benefits and coverage will begin after the policy's effective start date.
    The insurance provider for Patriot International Lite recommends submitting correction requests in writing, as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Once received, we forward the request to the provider, who will process requests in the order they are received. It typically take 3-5 business days, for the correction to be completed. To avoid errors and corrections, please double-check your application before purchasing.

    The Adventure Sports Rider offered in the Patriot International Lite plan is available for travelers up to the age of 65 and must be purchased at the time of application. The rider is designed to cover a policyholder while participating in the following activities if the activity is solely for leisure, recreation or entertainment purposes:abseiling, BMX; bobsledding; bungee jumping; canyoning; caving; hot air ballooning; jungle zip lining; parachuting; paragliding; parascending; rappelling; skydiving; spelunking; and windsurfing.

    All such activities must be carried out in strict accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines of the applicable Governing Body or Authority of each such activity. PLEASE NOTE: Certain sports activities are never covered, regardless of whether or not you purchase the Adventure Sports Rider. Please see exclusion 8 in the exclusions page. Please note this is only a summary of Adventure Sports and exclusions. For additional information, please refer to the Certificate of Insurance.

    The Device/Cellular Protection rider is an optional coverage available for Patriot International Lite that certain residents can purchase to cover their cellular phone in case of damages during travel. The optional rider can either provide coverage for repair costs or some coverage for replacing the cellular phone.

    Residents from the following countries have the option to purchase this additional rider for coverage during their international travels: USA, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Ireland, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand.

    The Accidental Death and Dismemberment rider can be added to increase the Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits already included in the Patriot International Lite policy. This option must be added and purchased at the time of application, with a minimum coverage period of 3 months. NOTE: The premium is charged in whole-month increments.
    The telehealth rider, offered by Patriot International Lite, is an optional benefit that provides 24/7 access to U.S. board-certified doctors and pediatricians for diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions for new illnesses or injuries via phone or video.
    If your original payment method for Patriot International Lite is invalid, refunds will require a wire or ACH transfer. Please provide the account holder's full address, account type (checking/savings), and complete bank information for processing.
    To purchase the Patriot International Lite policy, the minimum premium must be at least $10. If your total premium for the duration of coverage is less, you will be charged $10 to meet the requirement.
