Hello, I am an employer in Washington, and one my employees is with us on a B1 visa. She arrived less than 3 months ago. She is here for an extended period of time (more than 3 years). What insurance is appropriate for her, which would include preventative care (e.g. vision exams, medical check-ups)? She is healthy, but I do want pre-existing conditions covered to avoid complications with insurance companies claiming that X, Y, and Z issues are not covered.
Person on B1/B2 US visa is a visitor, and qualifies only for visitors and travel insurance. Visitors insurance is a good short-term insurance to provide coverage for any unforeseen accidents of illnesses. Insurance for visitors are short term temporary insurance and do not provide same coverage and benefits as US domestic health insurance provides. Pre-existing conditions, preventative care or such extended comprehended benefits are only available under US domestic health insurance for qualified US Citizens residents. She can get a comprehended coverage visitor insurance to get higher level of benefits.
