Q
Hi, I want to buy insurance for my dad. He has had a stroke before. If I buy a plan, will it cover for if he gets sick while in the US?

A

Insurance provided for visitors is short-term insurance that covers only new medical and travel risks as stated in the policy. It usually does not cover for any pre-existing conditions. Here are some good resources that will help you make the right decision:

2. Understand Preexisting Conditions, Why They Are Not Covered. Pre-Existing Conditions and Other Non-Covered Benefits
