I am inviting my parents who are aged 73 and 69 respectively. Am i understanding correctly that for someone who is above 70 yrs old medical coverage is capped at 30K. Does that include hospital rooms, specialists etc?

Every plan has its own set of restrictions and limitations. That being said, for your parent’s stay in the U.S., we reccomend you consider the CoverAmerica Plan. For people below 70, this plan offers a policy maximum ranging from $50,000 to $100,0000. For people 70 years and over, the policy maximum can go up to $100,000. Like all other travel insurance policies, the plan covers for any unexpected new illnesses or injuries that occur after the policy becomes effective. It does not offer coverage for preventive care, pre-existing conditions, dental or vision. However for only an acute onset of pre-existing conditions, the plan covers up to $120,000 for people below 70, and $30,000 for people above 70. If acute onset related to a pre-existing condition starts, then the plan would cover up to a maximum of $30,000. This would include all kinds of services, including hospitalization, surgery etc.
