Q
I am looking to buy the Patriot America Plus policy for my mother. I need more info related to the coverage for acute onset of a pre-existing condition. My mother, is on medication for a heart disease. Will her medication be covered by the policy?

Thank you for your question.

Prescriptions are covered by the insurance for all new illnesses and injuries that occur after the policy goes into effect. Prescriptions for pre-existing conditions are not covered by the policy. We recommend traveling with enough medication to sustain you for the durration of your trip.

An acute onset of a pre-existing condition is a very specific event. Prescriptions for a pre-existing condition would not be considered an acute onset and would subsequently not be covered by the policy.

We highly recommend you go through the policy documents thouroughly to understand what is covered by the policy and what is excluded.
