I arrived in the US on Monday and would like a policy that covers me from the 5th September upto 30November 2016. Can it be possible to cover me backwards?

Travel medical insurance policies cannot be backdated since they only cover anything unexpected and new that happens after the policy starts. The earliest effective day is the next day after you purchase a policy. There is one policy called Atlas America that can start the same day that you purchase the policy.
