The plans that we offer are short term travel plans. These only provide coverage for new and unexpected illness or injury that may occur after the policy goes into effect. These do not provide coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventive care, prenatal care, dental or vision. Additionally, pregnancy- and childbirth-related expenses are generally not covered under any kind of travel medical or visitors insurance plans due to their short-term nature. This is because the insurance industry is regulated by the Department of Insurance and the plans are designed to only provide coverage for anything unexpected or unplanned. Because of this, visitors are required to pay out of their own pocket for any pregnancy- or childbirth-related medical visits.
That being said, one plan you may want to consider is the Atlas America Plan. This plan would only provide coverage for complications or emergencies related to pregnancy within the first 26 weeks of gestation period, should anything arise. Before purchasing this policy however, we do recommend that you read the policy documents thoroughly, as there are certain limitations and exclusions in these regards. You can also reach out to one of our licensed agents should you have any specific questions.
Insurance rates are regulated by law. You can't find the same insurance plan for a lower price anywhere else
