Flight Accident Insurance

Flight Accident Insurance

Imagine this: You run through the airport hoping to make your flight on time. You make it through security and get to the gate just before the door closes. Once you find your seat, you buckle up and settle in for your flight. Just before takeoff, the pilot comes on the loudspeaker to announce a delay due to a mechanical issue. Now, imagine being 30,000 feet in the air when the mechanical issue occurs. Accidents on commercial airlines are extremely rare, but if they do happen, flight accident insurance can give air travelers peace of mind.

Insurance Plans That Offer Additional Flight Accident Coverage

The following plans have add-on options for Flight Accident Insurance:

Flight Accident Insurance is an add-on benefit for trip insurance designed to provide coverage against any accident you may encounter while on a licensed commercial flight. Flight Accident Insurance doesn't include coverage for non-commercial flights. In the event that a flight goes horribly wrong, you can have the peace of mind knowing that you’re financially protected. This insurance also serves as a form of accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

In these types of extreme accidents, the insurance policy provides a lump sum benefit amount for you or your beneficiary. Anyone who frequently travels by air needs Flight Accident Insurance to protect them in case an injury or fatality occurs aboard a plane.

Flight Accident Insurance benefits can help protect you financially if you are injured in a commercial airplane. In case of dismemberment (the loss of a limb), a fractional amount is paid to the insured. Other accidents such as the loss of sight or permanent paralysis are also covered; the amount that will be paid depends on the package, and may vary from insurer to insurer. Covered injuries are explicitly enumerated in the insurance policy.

Flight Accident Insurance won't cover you under following circumstances:

  • Death as a result of any sickness
  • Death during a surgery
  • Death resulting from mental or physical illness
  • Death due to drug overdose
