Q1: Who is eligible for the Worldwide Trip Protector Plans?

US citizens and US Residents, who live in the US, are covered by these plans, for traveling both within the US, as well as internationally outside the US.

Q2: Does my plan cover COVID-19?

If you become ill from contracting COVID-19 during your period of coverage or ordered into quarantine from an authorized person(s), you may be eligible for reimbursement of medical expenses and trip costs. Please refer to your plan documents for the terms and conditions of these benefits.

Q3: What should be included in the trip cost?

The trip cost should include any non-refundable payments made related to the trip. In case of unforeseen cancellation of the trip, these costs would be lost. Examples of these are costs of airline tickets, hotel reservations, tour reservations, etc.

Q4: Can I renew the plan if I extend my trip?

Trip plans are not renewable. In case of change of plans, you would need to purchase a new plan.

Q5: Is the plan cancelable?

You can cancel for any reason. You may cancel insurance by given written consent within the first to occur of the following: (a) 14 days from effective date of your insurance; (b) Your scheduled departure date. If you do this, the company will refund your premium paid provided no claim is under the policy.

Q6: Are pre-existing conditions covered by the plan?

The insurance company will not pay for any expenses as a result of any illness, disease, or other condition during the 60 day period immediately prior to the date of coverage. The exclusion for Pre-Existing Condition will be waived provided: (a) Your payment for the policy was within 21 days of the date of your initial deposit date. (b) You insure all pre-paid trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions. (c) You are not disabled at the time your premium is paid.

Q7: Can I cancel the plan for any reason?

Coverage and reimbursement for cancellation on Worldwide Trip Protector will have to fall under eligible. Please review your policy terms and conditions for a list of exclusions and restrictions.

Q8: What are some of the covered reasons for trip cancellation benefits?

All options of the plan would cover for the specific covered reasons. Some of these include: Sickness, Injury or Death, Felonious Assault, Court Ordered Appearance, Military Duty for Natural Disaster Relief, Jury Duty, Termination/Layoff, Strike, Weather, Hijacking, Terrorist Incident, Traffic Accident, Bankruptcy/Default, Quarantine, Residence Uninhabitable

Q9: What is the difference between Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption?

Trip cancellation benefits become available if the trip is cancelled before the journey begins (before the start date of the policy). Trip interruption benefits are available after the journey begins. If for some documented covered reason, the trip is cancelled after the journey starts, the insured person has to go back to the home country.
