Does age matter for travel insurance?

Updated Mar 03, 2022
Answer provided by a licensed Insurance advisorLicensed U.S. Insurance Specialist at VisitorsCoverage
Travel insurance coverage is available for infants two weeks old to adults up to 99 years of age. Plan price is partially based on age, so age definitely does matter when purchasing travel insurance. The higher a person gets in age, the more likely incidence of illness or injury becomes. Therefore, older individuals may be seen as higher risk and thus policies tend to be more expensive.
