We highly recommend purchasing a travel insurance plan prior to departure. At minimum you should allow 24 hrs for processing before the policy goes into effect. The premium would be the same whether you purchase the plan before arrival in the USA or after arrival in the USA. The premium is calculated primarily based on the age of the visitor and the duration of their stay. You can purchase a plan after your arrival, though we recommend you buy it as soon as possible once you arrive, to provide coverage for any new and unexpected illness or injury following your arrival.
