Q1: Who is eligible for the RoundTrip Plans?
US citizens and US Residents, who live in the US, are covered by these plans, for traveling both within the US, as well as internationally outside the US.
Q2: Does my plan cover COVID-19?
If you become ill from contracting COVID-19 during your period of coverage or ordered into quarantine from an authorized person(s), you may be eligible for reimbursement of medical expenses and trip costs. Please refer to your plan documents for the terms and conditions of these benefits.
Q3: What should be included in the trip cost?
The trip cost should include any non-refundable payments made related to the trip. In case of unforeseen cancellation of the trip, these costs would be lost. Examples of these are costs of airline tickets, hotel reservations, tour reservations, etc.
Q4: Can I renew the plan if I extend my trip?
Trip plans are not renewable. In case of change of plans, you would need to purchase a new plan.
Q5: Is the plan cancelable?
You can cancel the plan and get a full refund back, within 10 days of the look-up period. After 10 days of purchase, the plan is not cancelable or refundable.
Q6: Are pre-existing conditions covered by the plan?
Pre-existing conditions coverage varies with the plan option you choose.
Q7: Can I cancel the plan for any reason?
Cancel for Any Reason is note available with RoundTrip Economy and optional for RoundTrip Choice and RoundTrip Elite option with additional cost.
Q8: What are some of the covered reasons for trip cancellation benefits?
All options of the plan would cover for the specific covered reasons. Some of these include: Sickness, Injury or Death, Felonious Assault, Court Ordered Appearance, Military Duty for Natural Disaster Relief, Jury Duty, Termination/Layoff, Strike, Weather, Hijacking, Terrorist Incident, Traffic Accident, Bankruptcy/Default, Quarantine, Residence Uninhabitable
Q9: What is the difference between Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption?
Trip cancellation benefits become available if the trip is cancelled before the journey begins (before the start date of the policy). Trip interruption benefits are available after the journey begins. If for some documented covered reason, the trip is cancelled after the journey starts, the insured person has to go back to the home country.
Q10: What are the differences between RoundTrip Economy, RoundTrip Choice, and RoundTrip Elite?
The differences among the plans are mostly the level of coverage. The Economy Plan offers the most basic coverage, and does not include certain coverages like Pre-existing condition waiver and Cancel for Any Reason. The Choice Plan is the one that provides medium range coverage; the Elite Plan offers the most extensive benefit features and amounts among all the options.
Q11: Does RoundTrip cover the Coronavirus vaccination?
RoundTrip doesn't cover COVID-19 vaccinations but will cover COVID-19 treatment and services the same as any other eligible condition if COVID-19 is contracted after the policy effective date. Preventative care related to COVD-19, like vaccinations, aren't covered under the policy. Please login to My Policy to view your plan specific documents for any limits or exclusions.
Q12: When does my coverage start on my trip insurance policy?
Coverage on a trip insurance plan will begin the day after you have purchased your policy and will cover you for reasons such as trip cancellation prior to the departure date.
