Q : Who is eligible to buy Student Secure Insurance?
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for Student Secure:
Q: Do I have to be a full-time student to purchase your Student Secure Insurance?
Yes; to be eligible for Student Secure you must be a full-time student at a college or university excluding online colleges and universities, within 31 days of becoming a full-time student, or a full-time scholar affiliated with an education institution performing work or research for at least 30 hours per week.
Q: How will my proof of insurance be sent to me?
If you apply online, the application process generally takes about 10 minutes. If you submit an application by e-mail, fax or mail, it will be processed by the second business day that the completed application and correct premium are received.
Q: When I apply online, when do I get my fulfillment?
Your fulfillment is your policy information. When you apply online for your policy, your fulfillment will be available in your Web browser immediately following the successful purchase of the plan. A copy of the fulfillment will also be sent to the e-mail address you provided on the application. Your fulfillment will include: a summary of benefits, name(s) of policy member(s), ID cards, receipt, and the description of coverage.
Q: I need coverage to begin as soon as possible. Is it possible for my Student Secure policy to go into effect the day I enroll?
No, however, your policy can go into effect as soon as one day after you enroll online.
Q: Are a student's dependents eligible for coverage?
Yes, the dependents must meet all of the following requirements:
Q : My school requires an Insurance Compliance Form or a Waiver Form be completed as proof of my insurance. Can you complete this form for me? What should I do?
First, purchase Student Secure Insurance. After your purchase (enrollment) is complete, simply fax your school's Compliance or Waiver Form to us at (610) 537-9828. We will complete it and fax it back to your school for you. Forms received by 12:00 noon Pacific Time will be faxed back to your school by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, the same day.
Q : Can I buy Student Secure Insurance if I am already studying outside my home country?
Yes. You can enroll in Student Secure Insurance-Select plan regardless of how long you have been studying outside your home country, as long as you fulfill the eligibility requirements in Question 1 above.
Q : Can I renew my coverage?
Yes, you can renew the coverage up to 4 years as long as you fulfill the eligibility requirements in Question 1 above. After 4 years of continuous coverage or any break in coverage, a new plan must be purchased. A new Application is required and you must re-satisfy your Deductible, Coinsurance, Pre-existing
Q : How do I renew my coverage?
Renewals must be completed within 30 days prior to the scheduled expiration date. Extensions may be transacted at any time after the initial effective date. Extensions are available up to 12 months at a time and the deductible and coinsurance must be re-satisfied every 12 months unless there is a break in coverage. Extensions and renewals must be made online with payment by credit card
Q: Can I cancel my coverage?
To be eligible for a full refund, the request for cancellation must be received prior to the effective date. Cancellation requests received after the effective date will be subject to the following conditions:
Q : Does Student Secure Insurance cover Pre-Existing Conditions?
After 12 months of continuous coverage, Student Secure SM will provide benefits for pre-existing condition. A pre existing condition is any Injury or Illness which, within the 12 months prior to the Effective Date of Coverage, manifested itself, exhibited symptoms, or required medical treatment or medication, or for which a Physician was consulted.
Q : Does Student Secure cover pregnancy?
Yes, it covers the pregnancy of an insured student or enrolled spouse if the pregnancy begins during the coverage period. It does not cover the pregnancy of a dependent child.
Q : Will my Student Secure Insurance cover me if I travel outside the U.S.?
Yes. Student Secure Insurance covers the insured's worldwide, except in your home country, as long as you fulfill the requirements in Question 1 above.
Q : After graduation, I plan to remain in the U.S. for practical training. Am I still eligible for coverage under Student Secure?
No. Once you graduate and are no longer attending school, you are no longer eligible for Study USA-HealthCare. You should instead enroll in an insurance Plan for Visitors to the U.S.
Q : After I submitted my Enrollment online, I realized I entered the wrong personal information. What should I do?
Send any corrections to us in writing by email to: email@example.com, or by fax or mail and we will confirm the changes. When sending correspondence, please include a daytime phone number and reference your Transaction Number.

Important renewal information about your Student Secure Insurance:
- Student Secure policy has the option for online extension for up to 4 years as long as the insured meets the eligibility criteria.
- There is a $5 renewal fee every time you renew the policy.
- It is recommended to renew your policy a day before the policy expiration date.
- Once the policy expired you no longer have the option for renewal. In such cases you may apply for a new policy.
- Premium may increase at renewal:
- Based on applicants age at the time of renewals.
- Rates are subject to change at underwriters discretion.
- Benefits may change based on the applicants age at the time of renewal.
