What is the difference between travel insurance and visitors insurance?

Travel insurance, trip insurance, travel medical insurance and visitor insurance are often used interchangeably but have many notable differences. Trip insurance, generally referred to as travel insurance, provides coverage for travel-related risks such as trip cancellation, loss of baggage and loss of travel documents, whereas travel medical insurance, also known as visitors insurance, provides coverage for any new, unexpected illness or injury that may occur during your travels.
