How to Use Your Visitor Insurance

Each insurance company may have their own state-specific regulations on where plans can be sold. These state restrictions only impact residents from those specific states from purchasing these plans. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active policy period.

Extensions must be completed within 30 days prior to the scheduled expiration date. Extensions may be transacted at any time after the initial effective date. Extensions are available up to 12 months at a time and the deductible and coinsurance must be re-satisfied every 12 months unless there is a break in coverage. Extensions must be made online with payment by credit card

To be eligible for a full refund, the request for cancellation must be received prior to the effective date. Cancellation requests received after the effective date will be subject to the following conditions:

  • A $25 cancellation fee will apply
  • Only premium for unused whole-months of the plan will be refunded
  • Only members who have no claims are eligible for premium refund
  • After 60 days, no refunds are granted

You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.
