US residents, who live in the US, are covered by these plans, for traveling both within the US, as well as internationally outside the US.

The insurance company will not pay for any expenses as a result of any illness, disease, or other condition during the 60 day period immediately prior to the date of coverage. The exclusion for Pre-Existing Condition will be waived provided: (a) Your payment for the policy was within 15 days of the date of the initial payment date. (b) You insure all pre-paid trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions. (c) You are not disabled at the time your premium is paid.

Each insurance company may have their own state-specific regulations on where plans can be sold. These state restrictions only impact residents from those specific states from purchasing these plans. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active policy period.

Trip plans are not renewable. If your trip will be extended, you can request a policy extension from Travelex by emailing customersolutions@travelexinsurance.com. This doesn’t guarantee extension requests can be accommodated, but it can be considered.

You may cancel the insurance by giving written consent within the first to occur of the following: (a) 15 days from effective date of your insurance; (b) the day before the scheduled departure date. If you do this, the company will refund your premium paid provided no claim is under the policy.

You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.

You will need names, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, home country address, total nonrefundable trip costs, and a valid credit card.

After purchasing the policy online, you will receive your ID card in your confirmation email.
Coverage will be provided in all eligible countries visited with the exception of any restricted countries listed in the policy documentation. Coverage will only be offered within the policy start and end dates. Please note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country.
