Effective July 1, 2019, the PPO provider for Atlas America is UnitedHealthcare. UnitedHealthcare is an independent organization and a recognized by all major hospitals, doctors, and health facilities.
If you have an Atlas America Insurance policy, it is better to go to the provider listed in this provider directory to take the advantage of the plan benefits. Remember to mention UnitedHealthcare as your PPO provider when you visit the hospital, since this is the name that is recognized by the provider.
Note - your PPO network will remain FirstHealth Network if:
- You purchased an Atlas America policy prior to July 1, 2019
- Your home country is one of the following European countries, territories or economic area countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Solvak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Azores, Canary Islands, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Madeira, Martinique, Mayotte, Reunion, Saint Martin, Iceland, Lichtenstein or Norway.
Outside the US, the PPO network for Atlas America is Equian International. If you are using Atlas America Insurance while traveling in a country outside the US, you may visit a doctor or hospital within the Equian International Provider Network, or you may visit any doctor or hospital of your choice.
However, by visiting a health service provider within the network, you are guaranteed the convenience of direct billing from the doctor or hospital to the insurance company since Tokio Marine HCC - MIS Group has coordinated with the healthcare providers within the PPO Network to ensure that direct billing arrangements are set.
