Plan Effective Date

Home Country Definition
US citizens: Home Country is always the United States, regardless of the location of your Principal Residence.
Non US citizens: Home Country is the country where you principally reside and receive regular mail.

Q1. Am I eligible for the Atlas International plan?

Q2. What Information do I need to buy the Plan?
You would need the names, dates of birth, travel dates, and mailing address of the visitors. A valid credit card is also required to purchase the plan.
Q3. When will I receive my ID card?
An email confirmation will be sent after purchase. The email will include links and instructions on how to access and print out your ID card.
Q4. Can I extend the plan, if I plan to stay longer?
Yes, if you buy the plan initially for more than 5 days, you can extend the policy. It is recommended to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires. There is be an $5 extension fee added to the premium for the additional days of coverage. The policy can be extended for up to a maximum of 364 days.
Q5. Can I cancel the plan, if I plan to go back earlier?
Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Atlas International/America Plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply:
Q6. What is an acute onset of pre-existing condition?
An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. It has to be an acute medical condition that requires immediate medical attention. More conditions and restrictions apply. Please check the Description of Coverage to understand what is covered under acute onset of pre-existing condition.
Q7. What is the Incidental Home Country Coverage?
During the policy period, if you need to go back to your home country for a short trip, and come back again, then the plan would cover in your home country for such short trips. For US citizens, coming back to the USA for an incidental trip, the maximum number of days for coverage is 15 days. The maximum number of days covered in an incidental trip to the home country for Non-US citizens is 30 days. The trip must not be taken for medical purposes. Incidental home country coverage does not apply to the final trip to the home country.

You can go to any doctor or hospital of your choice and be covered 100% for eligible medical expenses. However, if you choose to go to a provider within the PPO network United Healthcare for Atlas America, benefit prices may be negotiated./p>

Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at once.
Since this plan is renewable you can renew it anytime you would like to before the policy expires. There is a renewable fee of $5 that associated with the renewal.
