Atlas International Premium is an A rated comprehensive Travel Medical insurance plan that provides medical coverage and other covered travel and emergency services for a traveler's temporary stay outside of their home country.     The Atlas International Premium plan is available for: US and Non-US citizens traveling outside their home country and country of citizenship.

    Pre-existing conditions are not covered by Atlas International Premium plan. However, the Atlas International Premium plan covers up to the policy maximum for acute onset of pre-existing conditions in people up to age 79. It is up to the attending physician to determine if a particular medical situation is related to pre-existing condition or not, and also if it would be considered as an acute onset or not. Please check the Description of Coverage for more information about what is considered as acute onset of pre-existing condition.

    The cost of Atlas International Premium varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as traveler’s age, duration or length of trip, and selected coverage benefit limits. Typically, Atlas International Premium can cost about $5 a day for the duration of the trip for a person 50 years of age selecting International travel coverage area that does not include USA .
    With Atlas International Premium, you can go to any doctor or hospital of your choice and be covered 100% for eligible medical expenses.

    Each insurance company may have their own state-specific regulations on where plans can be sold. These state restrictions only impact residents from those specific states from purchasing these plans. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active Atlas International Premium policy period.
    Yes, you can extend Atlas International Premium. You would need to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires. There would be an extra $5 extension charge. The policy can be extended for a minimum of 5 days and up to a maximum of 365 days.

    Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Atlas International Premium plan if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply:

    • Written request is required for any cancellation.
    • You can get a refund back, only if no claim has been filed.
    • If you cancel before the start date, you would get the full refund back.
    • If you cancel after the policy start date, you can get a pro-rated refund for the number of days left in the policy. Please note, there is a 5-day minimum purchase at the onset, and if the policy is cancelled after the effective date the policy must retain a minimum of 5-days.
    • $25 cancellation fee applies.
    • If there is any claim on file, you would not get any refund back.
    You cannot remove one person from the Atlas International Premium policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.
    In order to apply for Atlas International Premium, you will need names, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, home country address, and a valid credit card.
    You can print out your Atlas International Premium ID card from your confirmation e-mail and it will be used as proof of insurance.
    Atlas International Premium will provide coverage in all eligible countries visited with the exception of your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy documentation. Coverage will only be offered within the policy start and end dates. Please note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country.
    Atlas International Premium can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence.     Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at once.

    Since this plan is renewable you can renew it anytime you would like to before the policy expires. There is a renewable fee of $5 that associated with the renewal.

    Coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date.
    Only the primary destination in the application will be listed on the policy documents, but rest assured that all other eligible inputted countries will be covered during the active policy period.

    Coverage on the travel medical insurance plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am EST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's' home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 11:59pm EST on the last date of coverage

    No, your Atlas International Premium plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You have to sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. Not all plans are extendable or renewable, so be sure to review your policy terms and conditions for eligibility.

    An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. It has to be an acute medical condition that requires immediate medical attention. More conditions and restrictions apply.     Yes, Atlas International Premium provides coverage to US and Non-US citizens regardless of visa status, traveling outside their home country and country of citizenship.

    The insurance provider recommends that you submit any correction requests in writing as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Following receipt of the correction, we send the request to the insurance provider; normally, the updates require 3-5 business days. They are processed in the order that they are received. We advise double-checking the information on the Atlas International Premium application before completing the purchase to prevent any errors and corrections.
    If your original Atlas International Premium payment method is invalid, please contact the insurance administrator directly at 800-605-2282 to update/edit your account details for a smooth refund process during cancellation.
    The Atlas International Premium Air Doctor Benefit is a service that connects travelers with trusted medical professionals abroad, offering up to two cashless medical visits outside the U.S., if a $0 deductible option is selected upon checkout. Plans effective for more than six months are allocated three visits.

    Through the Air Doctor platform, travelers can easily locate nearby doctors, book appointments, and choose between in-person or video consultations. Payments are handled directly, eliminating the need to pay upfront or file claims for reimbursement, making healthcare access abroad seamless and stress-free. This applies to policies purchased on or after January 15, 2025. Please review your plan\'s specific documents for any limits or exclusions.
