Health insurance for New Immigrants and Green Card holders

New immigrants to USA, or recent green card holders can have the following options depending on their situations.

Apply for a new Immigrant Visitor Insurance : As a new comer to USA on Green card the only immediate health insurance option is to get a new Immigrant Visitor Insurance.

1. Inbound Immigrant insurance – Maximum 60 months ( 5yrs) , can not be extended beyond this.
2. Visit-USA insurance plan – maximum up to 12 months, can not be renewed, but you are eligibe for a new policy.
3. Diplomat America LT - Maximum up to 3 yrs only.

If you have already spent over 6 months in USA: For those who have spent at least 6 months or more, and continuously residing in USA , may apply for a domestic health insurance ( If age is less then 65 yrs) , Or may apply for a alternative plans like Bridge Plan ( if age is 65 or more)
