Eligibility
You are eligible for this coverage in USA, if you are temporarily residing outside your home country/country of permanent residence while actively engaged in education, teaching or research activities and if you are one of the following: F1/J1 valid Visa holder. Spouse and dependent children are also eligible for coverage. Permanent residents (green card holders) and US Citizens are not eligible for coverage under this plan.
Deductible Content
Deductible is the amount that you are responsible for, before insurance company starts paying for any covered expenses. Deductible for this type of plan is applicable once per incident.
If you visit a doctor again after a few days for a new problem, the deductible will be applicable again for that new incident.
Since deductible is per incident for these type of plans. It is a good idea to select a lower deductible such as “0“.

Plan Effective Date
The Effective Date of this Policy is the later of the following:
1. The Date the Company receives a completed Application and correct premium for the Policy Period, or
2. The Effective Date requested on the Application, or
3. The day after applying online, or
4. The day after postmark when mailed.
Plan End Date
Your coverage ends on the earliest of the following:
1. The date you cease to be eligible for coverage; or
2. The end of your term of coverage; or
3. The date requested on your application; or
4. The last day for which premium has been paid.

Q: Who is eligible to buy Collegiate Care plans? You are eligible for this coverage in the USA, if you have a current passport or visa and are temporarily residing outside your home country/country of permanent residence while actively engaged in education or research activities. You are "actively engaged" in education, teaching or research activities if you are one of the following: F1/J1 valid Visa holder; For purposes of this insurance, if the Eligible Person's home country or country of permanent residence (passport country) is different from the Eligible Person's country of permanent residence (location in which the Eligible Person permanently resides), the Eligible Person will not be covered in either location. Permanent residents (green card holders) and US Citizens are not eligible for coverage under this Policy. Home study, correspondence, internet classes and television courses do not fulfill the eligibility requirements. | |

Q: How will my proof of insurance be sent to me? If you apply online, the application process generally takes about 10 minutes. If you submit an application by e-mail, fax or mail, it will be processed by the second business day that the completed application and correct premium are received. | |
Q: When I apply online, when do I get my fulfillment? Your fulfillment is your policy information. When you apply online for your policy, your fulfillment will be available in your Web browser immediately following the successful purchase of the plan. A copy of the fulfillment will also be sent to the e-mail address you provided on the application. Your fulfillment will include: a summary of benefits, name(s) of policy member(s), ID cards, receipt, and the description of coverage. | |

Q: Does Collegiate Care Insurance cover Pre-Existing Conditions? After 6 months of continuous coverage, Collegiate Care will provide benefits for pre-existing condition. If you receive treatment or service for a Pre-Existing Condition: a) No benefits will be paid for such condition until the day after a 6 consecutive month period has passed from your effective date; and b) The plan will pay only for Covered Expenses incurred after such 6 consecutive month period. | |
Q: After graduation, I plan to remain in the U.S. for practical training. Am I still eligible for coverage under Collegiate Care plans? No. Once you graduate and are no longer attending school, you are no longer eligible for Collegiate Care plans. You should instead enroll in an insurance Plan for Visitors to the U.S. |
