Can you buy policy coverage for the days before your trip begins?

Travel medical insurance policies cannot be backdated since they only cover anything unexpected and new that happens after the policy starts. The soonest a policy can go into effect is the next day after you purchase a policy. The Atlas America policy can begin on the day of purchase.
