It provides comprehensive worldwide medical coverage for eligible healthcare expenses, including inpatient and outpatient care, emergency medical treatment, preventive care, and access to Cigna's extensive global provider network. Coverage is available with renewable annual policy terms.

Cigna Global Health provides access to Cigna's worldwide provider network, with direct billing available at many participating healthcare providers.

Cigna Global Health offers coverage for eligible pre-existing conditions, subject to the terms of the policy.

How does this plan pay?

Cigna Global Health is a fixed dollar based limited coverage plan. The plan pays a pre-defined fixed dollar amount for every service or treatment. These specific amounts are mentioned in the Plan Brochure. The policy maximum is just the outer limit, but there are limits to every service or treatment.

  • Individuals, families, expatriates and international workers
  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statements, etc) issued 3 months prior to applying for coverage is required with the application
  • Copy of either passport, national identity card or drivers license is required with the application
  • For Ages 18 years to 100 years

Individuals who are living outside of their home country for an extended period of time can purchase Cigna Global Health to receive coverage for medical treatment and services. Families living abroad may also be eligible for coverage under the policy.
You will need names of the travelers, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, country of residence, citizenships, destination's, home country address, and a valid credit card.
Cigna Global Health will cover a policyholder either worldwide including the U.S or worldwide excluding the U.S. In the application process, customers are required to input the new country they will be living in for an extended period.
Once you have completed the application and joined Cigna, you will be able to access your insurance ID card along with other important plan information via the secure online Customer Area provided by Cigna.
Cigna Global Health offers policyholders access to licensed doctors around the world for non-emergency health issues. For emergency related situations, policyholders should seek immediate care. They are able to visit any doctor or hospital.

For those being covered with the U.S, they can access a list of providers within the MultiPlan PPO network.
Cigna Global Health is a monthly or annual health coverage plan that can continue until the policyholder cancels the coverage.
Coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date.
Cigna Global Health can be canceled by terminating the monthly or annual payments being made for the continuing coverage. The policyholders can put in a request with the insurance company.

You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.

Depending on the pre-existing condition, coverage may be available. Policyholders should review their policy documents carefully to understand what health issues may or may not be covered. If a pre-existing condition is covered, it may be after a specified period of time. Please read the policy documents for any limits and/or exclusions.

Cigna Claims
Coverage on the travel medical insurance plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am EST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 11:59pm EST on the last date of coverage.
