Best Rating: A) is a comprehensive international health insurance plan for individuals, families, expatriates, and global professionals living or working outside their home country. It provides worldwide medical coverage for eligible healthcare expenses, preventive care, emergency medical treatment, making it an excellent choice for those seeking enhanced protection and long-term international healthcare coverage. Coverage is available for a minimum of 3 months, with renewable annual policy terms.

Long Term Worldwide Premier provides provides access to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core Network, with direct billing available at many participating healthcare providers worldwide.

How Long Term Worldwide Premier Works

How does this plan pay?

Long Term Worldwide Premier is a fixed dollar based limited coverage plan. The plan pays a pre-defined fixed dollar amount for every service or treatment. These specific amounts are mentioned in the Plan Brochure and the Description of Coverage. The policy maximum is just the outer limit, but there are limits to every service or treatment.

Eligibility

  • All U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents living abroad who are 74 or younger at the time of application are eligible to apply for coverage
  • All legal residents of the U.S. (citizens and foreign nationals) who are age 74 or younger at the time of application are eligible if they apply
  • An employee of a U.S. company, whereby the company is domiciled in the U.S. and the company pays the insurance premium.
  • The Eligible Member must be scheduled to reside outside of his/her home country for at least 3 months per year.

You must meet only one of the requirements below:
  • All U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents living abroad who are 74 or younger at the time of application are eligible to apply for coverage or;
  • All legal residents of the U.S. (citizens and foreign nationals) who are age 74 or younger at the time of application are eligible if they apply or;
  • An employee of a U.S. company, whereby the company is domiciled in the U.S. and the company pays the insurance premium.
  • The Eligible Member must be scheduled to reside outside of his/her home country for at least 3 months per year.
  • Long Term Worldwide Premier is administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions.
    Long Term Worldwide Premier is designed to cover individuals living outside of their home country for an extended period of time and will work similarly to a domestic health insurance plan. Services such as physician visits, maternity care, cancer treatment, vaccinations, dental care, and more can be covered under the plans.
    You will need names of the travelers, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, country of residence, citizenships, destination's, home country address, and a valid credit card.
    Long Term Worldwide Premier will cover a policyholder either worldwide including the U.S or worldwide excluding the U.S. In the application process, customers are required to input the new country they will be living in for an extended period.
    Long Term Worldwide Premier offers policyholders access to licensed doctors worldwide for non-emergency health issues. For emergency-related situations, policyholders should seek immediate care. They can visit any doctor or hospital.
    Long Term Worldwide Premier is an annual renewable health coverage plan that can continue until the policyholder cancels the coverage.
    Long Term Worldwide Premier can be canceled by terminating the monthly or annual payments being made for the continuing coverage. The policyholders can request the insurance company.
    If you were previously covered by a group or individual U.S. health plan and the carrier provides a letter verifying evidence of prior health insurance along with enrollment dates, Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions will apply this prior coverage to the pre-existing conditions waiting period, provided you meet Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions' medical underwriting criteria.

    The number of months of coverage shown on evidence of prior health insurance letters will reduce or eliminate the six-month pre-existing condition waiting period. If you have six or more months of prior creditable health insurance, your waiting period will be eliminated. If you have less than six months creditable coverage, your waiting period will be reduced by the number of months you had prior coverage. For example, if you have two months of creditable coverage, your waiting period will be reduced from six months to four months. You cannot have more than a 63 day break in health insurance coverage prior to the effective date of your Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions plan.
