Will visitors insurance cover treatment for an existing medical condition?

The plans that we offer are short term travel medical insurance plans which only provide coverage for new and unexpected sickness or injuries that occur after the policy goes into effect. As with all travel insurance policies, most of these do not have any coverage for pre-existing conditions or preventive care. You may want to consider the CoverAmerica - Gold policy because it is one of the very few plans that provides coverage for acute onset of a pre-existing condition for people above age 70. It is always up to the attending physician to determine if a given medical situation the result of a pre-existing condition or not, and also if it would be considered an acute onset.
