Pre-existing conditions are not covered by Atlas International plan. However, the plan covers up to the policy maximum for acute onset of pre-existing conditions in people up to 79 years of age. An acute onset of a pre-existing condition is defined as: A sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms. Chronic or congenital conditions or pre-existing conditions that gradually become worse over time will not be considered acute onset. A Pre-existing condition is defined as an Injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental, or nervous conditions, disorder or ailment (whether known or unknown) that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or within the 2 years immediately preceding the certificate effective date.

An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Atlas International plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply:
Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at once.
Since the Atlas International plan is renewable you can renew it anytime you would like to before the policy expires. There is a renewable fee of $5 that associated with the renewal.

Payments are handled directly, eliminating the need to pay upfront or file claims for reimbursement, making healthcare access abroad seamless and stress-free. This applies to policies purchased on or after January 15, 2025. Please review your plan's specific documents for any limits or exclusions.
