Global Medical Insurance (A.M. Best Rating: A) is an expatriate health insurance plan designed for individuals, families, and expatriates living or working outside their home country. It provides worldwide medical coverage for eligible healthcare expenses, including emergency accident and sickness medical treatment, emergency medical evacuation, making it a dependable solution for long-term international living. Coverage is available for up to 12 months, with an annual renewal option.

Global Medical Insurance provides access to IMG's international and U.S. provider networks, with direct billing available at many participating healthcare providers. Global Medical Insurance offers coverage for disclosed pre-existing conditions, subject to the terms of the policy.

How does this plan pay?

Global Medical Insurance is a fixed dollar based limited coverage plan. The plan pays a pre-defined fixed dollar amount for every service or treatment. These specific amounts are mentioned in the Plan Brochure. The policy maximum is just the outer limit, but there are limits to every service or treatment.

Global Medical Insurance is available for individuals and families of all nationalities. U.S. citizens must plan to be residing outside the U.S. on or before their effective date and renewal dates, for at least six (6) out of the next 12 months. Additional eligibility restrictions apply to non-U.S. citizens residing in the U.S. Persons from the ages of 14 days to 74 years old may apply for coverage, and coverage ends at age 75. Persons 75 years of age and older are not eligible for coverage. Please see a sample contract for further details.

Global Medical Insurance is designed to cover individuals living outside of their home country for an extended period of time and will work similarly to a domestic health insurance plan. Services such as physician visits, maternity care, cancer treatment , vaccinations, dental care and more can be covered under the plans.
You will need names of the travelers, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, country of residence, citizenships, destination's, home country address, and a valid credit card.
Global Medical Insurance will cover a policyholder either worldwide including the U.S or worldwide excluding the U.S. In the application process, customers are required to input the new country they will be living in for an extended period.
An email confirmation will be sent after purchase to the main applicant or person who completed the application . The email will include links and instructions on how to access and print out your ID card.
Global Medical Insurance offers policyholders access to licensed doctors around the world for non-emergency health issues. For emergency related situations, policyholders should seek immediate care. They are able to visit any doctor or hospital.
Global Medical Insurance is an annual renewable health coverage plan that can continue until the policyholder cancels the coverage.
Coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date.
Global Medical Insurance can be canceled by terminating the monthly or annual payments being made for the continuing coverage. The policyholders can put in a request with the insurance company.

You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.

Coverage on the travel medical insurance plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am EST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 12:01am EST on the date following the last day of coverage.
