Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan is an A+ rated comprehensive Travel Medical insurance plan that provides medical coverage and other covered travel and emergency services for visitors to the U.S during their travel and temporary stay outside of their home country. The coverage duration available is from 30 days to 180 days. While in the U.S, after the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay up to 100% of eligible medical expenses until the policy maximum is reached. Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan can cover COVID-19 like any other covered medical condition if the virus was contracted after the policy effective date.

The PPO provider for Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan Insurance is United Healthcare, a network recognized by all major hospitals and healthcare facilities.

When visiting a healthcare facility, remember to mention United Healthcare as your PPO provider. Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan policy holders should visit providers listed within the United Healthcare directory to take advantage of in-network benefits.


Outside the USA

There is no PPO network outside the United States. If your plan allows for coverage outside of the United States, you can visit any doctor or hospital.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered under Travel Medical plans unless classified as an acute onset of pre-existing condition by a physician and the insurer. Here are some common pre-existing conditions:

    What is not covered

    Active policy holders are encouraged to submit all policy renewals, corrections, or cancellations online through your account for timely processing.

    The Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan is available for any non-US citizen or resident visiting the USA for a short period of time. It is not available for US citizens, or long-term visa holders who pay taxes in the USA.

    Pre-existing conditions are not covered in the Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan. However, it does cover for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions:

  • For age 14 days to 89 years, the plan pays up to $25,000.

  • It is up to the attending physician to determine if a particular medical situation is related to pre-existing condition or not, and also if it would be considered as an acute onset or not. Please check the Description of Coverage for more information about what is considered as acute onset of pre-existing condition.

    An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. It has to be an acute medical condition that requires immediate medical attention. More conditions and restrictions apply. Please check the Description of Coverage to understand what is covered under acute onset of pre-existing condition.

    You can go to any doctor or hospital of your choice. If you would like, you can choose to go in the PPO network for Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan, which is the United Healthcare PPO Network.

    The cost of Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as the traveler's age, duration or length of trip, and selected coverage benefit limits.

    Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at the initial purchase.

    Since this plan is extendable you can extend it anytime you would like to before the policy expires.

    Each insurance company may have their own state-specific regulations on where plans can be sold. These state restrictions only impact residents from those specific states from purchasing these plans. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active policy period.

    Yes, if you buy the plan initially for more than 30 days, you can extend the policy. You would need to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires.

    No, the Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan can only be cancelled before the policy effective date

    You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.

    You will need names, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, home country address, and a valid credit card.

    You can print out your ID card from your confirmation e-mail and it will be used as proof of insurance. Nothing is sent to the mailing address in the home country.

    Coverage will be provided in all eligible countries visited with the exception of your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy documentation. Coverage will only be offered within the policy start and end dates. Please note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country.

    Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence.     Coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date.
    Only the primary destination in the application will be listed on the policy documents, but rest assured that all other eligible inputted countries will be covered during the active policy period.

    Coverage on the travel medical insurance plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am CST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's' home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 12:01am CST the day after the last date of coverage.

    No, your Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You have to sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. Not all plans are extendable or renewable, so be sure to review your policy terms and conditions for eligibility.

    The Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan does not cover for the COVID-19 vaccine/booster, but will cover COVID-19 treatment and services the same as any other eligible condition if contracted after the policy effective date. Preventative care related to COVID-19, like vaccines/boosters is not covered under the policy. Please sign in to your account to view your plan specific documents for any limits or exclusions.

    Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan will only cover for COVID-19 testing if the policyholder is experiencing symptoms and the test is ordered by an attending physician for diagnostic purposes. COVID-19 tests to meet travel requirements will not be covered.

    The Premium Comprehensive Travel Plan does not offer any coverage for quarantine.

    The insurance provider recommends that you submit any correction requests in writing as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Following receipt of the correction, we send the request to the insurance provider; normally, the updates require 3-5 business days. They are processed in the order that they are received. We advise double-checking the information on the application before completing the purchase to prevent any errors and corrections.
