Do the policy coverage and benefits change if the insured turns a year older while the policy is in effect?

Answer provided by a licensed Insurance advisorLicensed U.S. Insurance Specialist at VisitorsCoverage
Depending on which plan you choose, some plans will change benefit amounts once the insured person turns 70, while others would continue to treat the person as less than 70, up to the next time that you renew the policy. You can consider the Patriot America Plus Plan. For this plan, the coverage will not change, even if the person turns 70 within the policy coverage period. However, if you renew the policy after the insured turns 70, instead of buying the plan for the complete travel period, the premium would be higher, as adjusted to age 70. If you purchase a new policy instead of renewing it, then the plan would be considered a new policy and the benefits and pricing would all correspond to that of age 70 and above.
