Pre-Existing Condition Visitor Insurance Plans

If the traveler has a pre-existing condition like diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, you can still get visitor medical insurance for your trip to the USA or for an international trip. While a standard visitor insurance plan won't cover pre-existing conditions, a handful of specialized visitor insurance plans do, and many others cover sudden flare-ups, known as Acute onset of pre-existing conditions. There is an important difference between the two, and it's worth understanding before you buy. Only a few specialized plans offer full pre-existing condition coverage. These provide benefits for a pre-existing medical condition up to a set limit, and usually apply a separate deductible for that coverage. Such benefits either are included, or the plan allows you to add as a buy-up or rider, or an additional cost at the time of purchase.
