Diplomat America Insurance does not participate in any PPO Network. You may visit any doctor, hospital, or other healthcare service provider of your choice. When you use your Diplomat America insurance plan, the provider will either bill the insurance company directly or have you pay upfront and file a claim for reimbursement later.


Outside the USA

There is no PPO network outside the United States. If your plan allows for coverage outside of the United States, you can visit any doctor or hospital.

    The Diplomat America plan is available for non-U.S residents, including green card holders, visiting the USA for a short period of time.
    Unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing condition is covered up to the policy maximum for ages 69 and below per policy period with Diplomat America.
    You are able to cancel the Diplomat America plan for a full refund (minus a $25 cancellation fee) before the start date of the coverage. After the policy start date, the premium is fully earned and therefore nonrefundable.

    The Diplomat America plan does not provide coverage for pre-existing conditions.
    The cost of Diplomat America varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as the traveler's age, duration or length of trip, selected coverage benefit limits, and the selection of additional riders. Typically, it can cost about $6 a day for a person 50 years of age, when selecting coverage area or destination of travel as the USA.

    The Diplomat America plan is not renewable. If additional coverage time is needed, you may repurchase the plan for the remaining travel duration.
    You cannot remove one person from the Diplomat America policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms.
    In order to apply for Diplomat America, you will need names, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, home country address, and a valid credit card.

    Your purchase confirmation serves as your ID card, as Diplomat America does not issue individual ID cards. Depending on your policy length, you may also receive a physical ID card by mail within 5–10 business days.

    Diplomat America will provide coverage in all eligible countries visited with the exception of your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy documentation. Coverage will only be offered within the policy start and end dates. Please note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country.
    Diplomat America can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence.     Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, the Diplomat America plan requires the full payment at once.
    Diplomat America coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date.
    Only the primary destination in the application will be listed on the Diplomat America policy documents, but rest assured that all other eligible inputted countries will be covered during the active policy period.
    Coverage on the Diplomat America plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am EST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 11:59pm EST on the last date of coverage.
    No, your Diplomat America plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You have to sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. Not all plans are extendable or renewable, so be sure to review your policy terms and conditions for eligibility.
    Yes, you may purchase the Diplomat America policy even after the traveler has entered their destination country. Eligible benefits and coverage will begin after the policy's effective start date.
    The insurance provider recommends that you submit any correction requests in writing as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Following receipt of the correction, we send the request to the insurance provider; normally, the updates require 3-5 business days. They are processed in the order that they are received.
