Best Rating: A-) is a comprehensive travel medical insurance plan for international travelers visiting the United States, Canada, or Mexico who want broader medical protection during their trip. In addition to covering eligible new illnesses and injuries, it is one of the few visitor insurance plans that offers limited coverage for the worsening of eligible pre-existing conditions, making it a strong option for travelers who need added peace of mind. Coverage is available from 90 days to 365 days and must be purchased before leaving the home country.
While in the U.S., after the deductible is satisfied within the United Healthcare PPO network, the plan will pay 75% of eligible medical expenses up to the selected policy maximum. Outside of the PPO network, the plan will pay 60% of eligible medical expenses up to the selected policy maximum.
Visitors Protect provides limited coverage for pre-existing conditions up to $25,000 through age 69 and up to $20,000 for ages 70 and older.
