On Wednesday, a plane bound for Puerto Rico hit an unoccupied plane parked on the tarmac at JFK Airplane. JetBlue Flight 1603 was preparing to taxi ahead of take-off when it bumped into the empty plane. This marks the second close-call this week at one of the nation’s busiest airports. Prior to these incidents the airline industry had already been grappling with the fallout of a computer error that led to a 90-minute standstill of all outbound U.S. flights.
