News Brief: State Department Issues Security Alert for Tourists Amid Taxi & Uber Disputes in Mexico

On Monday, the U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory for visitors to Mexico after fare disputes erupted between medallion taxi drivers and Uber drivers. Taxi drivers temporarily blocked access to Kukulcan boulevard, a main road, forcing tourists to either walk or rely on transit officers for transportation to the airport. These latest disputes are just the latest in a series of confrontations between taxi services and ride-share drivers.
